Impact
Our program’s target outcomes include:
At the level of individual primary care providers: increase the capacity of primary care providers to improve their diagnostic, prescribing, treatment, and referral practices.
At the level of the community of practice: increase and improve collaboration among primary care providers and specialists.
At the level of the health care system: contribute to reducing disparities in access to quality mental healthcare for Ontario's children and youth and contribute to increasing the efficiency of mental health services.
Altogether, these long- and short-term goals culminate towards our ultimate vision of one standard of mental health care for Ontario children and youth, no matter where they live.
Like all ECHO programs, ECHO CYMH strives to create positive change within our healthcare system and to create better outcomes for patients. ECHO CYMH operate through three main activities: Education design and delivery, recruitment of Primary Care Providers, and research and evaluation.
